November 22, 2018 Council Meeting Highlights

Council addressed the following items at the November 22, 2018 Council Meeting:

Bylaw 547/18 – Amendment #12 to Land Use Bylaw 461

Council provided first reading to LUB Amending Bylaw 547/18. The purpose of Bylaw 547/18 is to adopt zoning classifications for the new 54th Avenue 13-lot Residential Subdivision. A Public Hearing on Bylaw 547/18 will be held on December 20, 2018 at 6:00 pm in the Council Chambers of the Town Office. The proposed Bylaw may be viewed in the Town Office or online at www.Sedgewick.ca

Bylaw 549/18 Fees & Charges Bylaw

Council endorsed Bylaw 549/18 – the Fees & Charges Bylaw which provides the rates for the 2019 municipal services such as the monthly Utility Fees for water, sanitary sewer, solid waste and natural gas services; Planning, Subdivision & Development Fees and Cemetery Fees. FRSWMA 2019 Budget & Requisition

Council approved the Flagstaff Regional Solid Waste Management Association 2019 Budget as presented, including a requisition to the Town of Sedgewick of $127,154.98, resulting in an increase of 2.75% for 2019 solid waste services in Sedgewick.

54th Avenue 13-lot Residential Subdivision Lot Pricing

Council deferred a decision on the residential subdivision lot pricing to the February council meeting.

Sanitary Sewer Rehabilitation Program

Council approved the incorporation of the Sewer Rehabilitation Program, as recommended by Associated Engineering, into the 2020 – 2024 Capital Forecast.

2019 Interim Operational Budget

Council approved the 2019 Interim Operating budget with estimated Revenues of $2,545,300 and expenditures of $2,526,592 (including Amortization expenses.) 2019 Interim Operational Budget can be viewed online at www.sedgewick.ca

 2019 Capital Budget

Council approved the 2019 Capital Budget as presented at a total cost of $3,714,000; 46% to be funded by grants, 11% by Reserves, 40% by Debenture and 2.5% by 2019 Property Taxes. View the 2019 Capital Budget online at www.sedgewick.ca

2018 Christmas Break

Council approved the closure of the Town Office and Public Works Department on December 24 and  31st, 2018.

January 2019 Meeting Date Amendment:

Council amended the January Council meeting date from January 17th to Thursday, January 24th at 6:00 pm.
