- Would you be prepared to attend a 4-day training course for either Board opportunity, (the costs of which would be paid by the Regional Board)?
- The Flagstaff Subdivision/Development Appeal Board (SDAB) is seeking members to sit on this regional, quasi-judicial board that will attend hearings of appeals regarding decisions made by a municipality’s subdivision and development authorities. (Training in Red Deer, starts September 12)
Qualifications for this position include:
- Experience or understanding of the basic principles of administrative law and the rules of natural justice
- Demonstrated integrity; be perceived as fair and impartial
- Knowledge about subdivision and development processes
- Ability to understand, organize, apply complex plans, relevant legislation, statutory documents and case law
- A willingness to devote the necessary time to prepare for, attend and participate in the hearings together with the additional time required to draft and review the decision
- The Inter-Municipal Assessment Review Board (ARB) is seeking members to sit on this quasi-judicial, regional board consisting of impartial persons who hear evidence from both parties before deciding upon the value of the property in question.
Qualifications for this position include:
- Experience or understanding of the basic principles of administrative law and the rules of natural justice
- Knowledge of the process of property assessment
- Analytical skills
- Ability to be fair and impartial, flexible, adaptable, committed and enthusiastic
