The Town of Sedgewick, in partnership with NuTec Electro Tel – Camrose, is an Internet Service Provider within its corporate limits and immediate surrounding area. In February 2020, the Town installed a 96′ tower next to the Wild Rose Co-op Recreation Centre which is able to transmit internet to properties within its direct line of sight. Thanks to the cooperation of the Lougheed Seed Cleaning Plant, we are also able to serve Lougheed residents as well as some County residents living near the two communities.

What Package Do I Choose?
High-speed internet accounts are capped at monthly data transfers, with the most commonly used cap being set to a maximum of 250 GB per month. The GB usage cap is made up of the total download and upload data transfers from your computer and network devices to (and from) the internet.
Download: The transfer of data from the Internet to your computer. For example surfing the Web or saving music and other files from the Internet to your computer.
Upload: The transfer of data from your computer to the Internet. For example, sending an email, putting new pages on your Web server or adding photos to your Facebook profile.
Under the 250 GB Package, all transfers cannot exceed 250 gigabytes a month. If they do, you will be charged an additional $0.50 per GB fee on any transfer above the first 250 GB.
Examples of 250 GB Monthly Transfers
It can be difficult to put a gigabyte — let alone 250 gigabytes — into actual usage context. Here are some examples to describe 250 GB of data usage:
Send 50 million plain text e-mails (at 5KB/e-mail)
Download 62,500 songs (at 4 MB/song)
Download 125 standard-definition movies (at 2 GB/movie)
Upload 25,000 hi-resolution digital photos (at 10 MB/photo)
Download 50,000 songs
Download 570 (1 hour) TV shows
When 250 GB is described as individual tasks the average home Internet user performs, it is easier to comprehend just how much 250 GB is in terms of transfer capacity. The problem Internet users face is that when you consider video and movie streaming sites (like YouTube or Netflix), interactive websites filled with embedded clips, images and streaming audio and similar content — it becomes more difficult to gauge your actual Internet data transfer usage. With that said, 250 GB is the package that is overwhelmingly chosen by most families and should suffice unless you are sure that your Internet needs are beyond what has been listed above.
